We make music to empower and heal broken souls — turning ancestral memory, jazz phrasing and spoken word into a space where people can put themselves back together, one song at a time.

Every set is built the same way: start with the room, read what it needs, and give it a reason to feel something real before the night is over.

To carry the sound of Khayelitsha Makhaza beyond its streets, keeping the threads of ancestry alive in every performance, so the next generation inherits songs that still know where they come from.

We want Iziko to become the name people reach for when an event needs more than background music — a wedding, a memorial, a launch, a night that has to be remembered.

Our sets move between spoken poetry and sung melody, jazz chords under isiXhosa and English lyrics, love songs sitting beside songs for the ancestors.

Nothing is performed for spectacle — it's offered as something to feel, to grieve with, to fall in love to, and to heal to.
